The Greatest Science of them All?

This weekend as some of the greatest scientific minds on the planet converge on Tempe, AZ to discuss the Origins of this universe and life itself, one critical perspective is likely to be missing - the spiritual. It's not a matter of faith, but rather of practice, that many scientists don't feel spirituality has anything to add to scientific exploration. This sets up unnecessary conflicts between those who would rather God, the word that is, not make an appearance, and those who insist that science validate their beliefs.

In fact, from a spiritual perspective, what we consider modern science is still in its infancy. Science is just beginning to discover what visionaries revealed hundreds, and in some cases, tens of thousands, of years ago.

The Prophets and Sages of old also were searching for Truth. They just used a different method. While the scientists were busy in their labs, the saints simply searched their own consciousness until they met the Creator, and asked directly the answers to the nature of creation.

The great modern seer, Baba Virsa Singh, saw spirituality as the greatest science. "Visionaries simply closed their eyes, sat comfortably in meditation, and described what they saw. They did not have to spend huge sums on research or waste battery cell power. We human beings have many powerful brain cells. Once they are developed through meditation we can observe the entire cosmos-from the microscopic to the vast expanse of the universe."

Many revelations, including Jaap Sahib, of Guru Gobind Singh, and the Vedas, speak of human life on 14 planets. The Holy Koran also spoke of the planets and cosmology. Babaji not only described these places, but was able to show them to me. Unfortunately, our civilization has such a bad reputation, that E.T. has drawn the curtain to conceal themselves, lest we attempt to conquer or pollute their space.

Anyone wondering about divine intent need only sit in meditation long enough and they will be able to hear the orders for the day given. If we only took a little time to orient ourselves to these new coordinates, we would be guided by the same force that orders the chaos of the universe. It would literally tell us to take an umbrella on a perfectly sunny day. Jesus had total control over the forces of His Father's Kingdom.

The problem with the world today is that we've made our gods so small they are easily toppled like idols of old by the latest discovery or trend in the world. Our gods have become human constructs.

No wonder many of those who have elevated themselves above the common man by searching for the answers to the Origins of existence consider themselves beyond the question of God. But quite the opposite, all research is only an affirmation of the wonder of the ever-greater God. That which is God is the Eternal One, beyond the space-time continuum, not subject to any material forces.

For those who'd rather hear it from a scientist, listen to Einstein: "The most beautiful emotion we can experience is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead, a snuffed-out candle. To sense that behind anything that can be experienced there is something that our minds cannot grasp, whose beauty and sublimity reaches us only indirectly: this is religiousness. In this sense only, I am a devoutly religious man."

Bottom line; no matter what we call ourselves or what we discover about the nature or origins of the universes, we must constantly expand our consciousness to accept each other as fellow human beings, feel responsible for all creation around us, and learn to live in peace.
